There are a few overlapping areas involved in Carole's work, she continues to practice as a Textile Artist working in hand-made paper, photography, embroidery and mixed media. Inspiration comes from flowers, poetry, creation, words and scripture. She creates work for private and public commissions and is happy to discuss potential pieces of work with clients.

Another area through her main job is developmental, educational and interactive and involves working with groups and individuals to develop their skills which impact local communities. This occurs through direct delivery or organising others with appropriate skills, this educational work often happens through creative approaches as well as other curricular areas. She is particularly keen to be involved in the conception of ideas and keen to see them through to their conclusion and evaluation.

Finally, Carole is interested in the development of the Creative Industries and the impact that these creative skills can make on the local economy and an international showcase.

Carole grew up in Portrush, Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland and amongst other things; she was strongly influenced by the definite change of activity from one season to another. The demands of busy summers distilled a strong work ethos while the winter time, generated activity around participating (mostly in production) in local pantomimes. This combination of enterprise, hard work, creativity and a sense of community has strongly shaped her character and career. She currently lives in Portglenone, Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

My work is aimed at those who would like private commissions created. I work in consultation with the client and consider the space where the work will be located.

"Ballymena and the Borough have always had a deep creative 'pool' in all the arts. It's wonderful and, personally, exciting for me that this pool is being tapped into and explored by this wonderful creative alliance. I'm very proud of you all!"
