Slemish Players is a group of amateur actors and actresses. We usually enter a number of local drama festivals and produce a lighter play in the middle of the year. We are always looking for new members who can act, help backstage, do set construction, make-up, lighting, sound etc. We have no permanent "home", rehearsing in various locations - barns, people's homes, Houston's Mill in Broughshane and even in The Braid Arts Centre. Slemish Players exists to provide enjoyment for its members and for its audiences
Liam Neeson started his acting career with Slemish Players
Over the years we have won numerous awards at local drama festivals and in 2003 John B. Keane's "The Chastitute" reached the Ulster Finals in the Lyric Theatre where Andy Spiers won the James Young Trophy for Best Actor.
